Sunday’s great charity event raised a fantastic amount of £532 for Blood Cancer UK with contributions received in the form of :-
Match Fees / Chris’s games / The Spider / Fines from Roger Button / Food bought by our guests / Eugene’s wife Carol’s kind gift of £50 / A huge raffle (thank you to everyone who contributed a raffle prize).
A big thanks to the club for paying for the costs, food etc..
Martin Clark has contacted Eugene’s wife Carol and advised that the event was really enjoyable and that over £500 was raised for the Blood Cancer Charity and bless her, she was over the moon.
There has been a lot of really great feedback received. Members mentioned that the event really did show the club at its best with everyone contributing to the great atmosphere.
For all their efforts many thanks to Bob, Val, Kevin, Jim Dix, Chris Noble, Steve Townsend, Roger Button, Garry Pym, camera man Roger Jackson and everyone else who helped out. Also a thank you to Mary’s team from Box BC who kindly entered our event.
Our BBQ connoisseurs Jim Dix and Kevin did so well and cooked up a cuisine enjoyed by everyone.
Big well done to Ann, Neil and Walter who won the “Remembering Eugene Cup” and very kindly contributed the £90 prize money back into the charity fund.
The silly hat prize went to Val, who along with Kevin, kindly contributed so much of their time and effort to the event.
With his wood taking a lot of wicks!!! the spider event was won by Jim Ennis.
The fun games, so well organised by Chris Noble and not forgetting Roger Button’s interesting fines!, added even further to the enjoyment of the day.
