Timeline

1880’s – Chippenham Sports Club Formed

1912 – Chippenham Town Bowls Club founded with a 4 Rink Green

1930’s – Additional 2 Rinks added

1960’s – Ladies Section founded

2004 – New Championship standard Green Opened

2004 – New Pavilion Opened

2012 – New floodlights added allowing games to continue well into the night!

Playing Success

Men

Wiltshire County Four Rink League Champions 12 times, Runners-Up 5 times

Mid Wiltshire Triples League Champions 23 times, Runners-up 8 times

1986 – Wiltshire won the National County ‘Middleton Cup’ with 4 Chippenham Town BC players

The Wiltshire Middleton Cup team continues to call on Chippenham Town Members for players

2012 – Wiltshire were Runners up to Norfolk in the Middleton Cup with Paul Macdonald and Dave Godwin from Chippenham Town playing in all rounds

2012 – Billy McCay - Wiltshire County Singles Champion 

2012 – Dave Godwin & Paul Macdonald - Wiltshire County Pairs Champions

2014 - Jim Dix - Wiltshire County Unbadged Singles Champion

2014 - Mixed Fours Double Rink - Wiltshire County Runners-up

2017 - Alex Wickham & Steve Heseltine - Wiltshire County Pairs Runners-up

2017 - Rob Clews, Jim Fitzpatrick, Rich Gainey, Neil Connor - Wiltshire County Fours Runners-up

2017 - Alan Stell, (sub John Lucas), Mike Travers, Jeremy Haselton, Steve Heseltine - Wiltshire Over 55's County Fours runners-up

Ladies

2013 – Barbara Shepheard & Jan Boden Wiltshire County Pairs Runners up

2015 - Irene Button (substitute for Barbara Shepheard), Jan Boden, Viv Baskerville & Barbara Land Wiltshire County Fours Champions
